Burgas Airport is the main gateway to the southern Black Sea coast, handling the bulk of seasonal charter and low-cost flights into Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Sozopol and the surrounding resorts. A private transfer from Sofia takes roughly four hours on the Trakia motorway, and for many travellers it's a more predictable option than timing a connecting flight or navigating an unfamiliar coach schedule with holiday luggage.
